Janelle Tan was born in Singapore. She is the winner of the 2022 J. Howard and Barbara M.J. Wood Prize from the Poetry Foundation. Her work appears in The Atlantic, Them, Poetry, Gulf Coast, and elsewhere. She teaches poetry internationally, is a wine consultant and private sommelier, and runs the Dinner Party Substack.
